Nobody likes paperwork…

This SaaS start-up was looking for help with a video they could share with their investors and potential clients. I was connected to the project through a previous client who knew how much I loved writing and directing video content.

This was a new challenge for me. The material was dense, and the client had high standards. As a technical writer, I understood the importance of precise language. As a storyteller, I knew I needed to earn customer empathy by tapping into the humanity within this SaaS product.

Much like this case study, I started by quickly emphasizing the problem: Doctors have too much paperwork and they’re not spending enough time with their patients. Instead of just jumping into how reducing paperwork makes spending time with patients easier, we flipped the script and highlighted how Nsight brings personal, attentive care back into the room. With interest peaked, viewers were more invested in understanding the platform.

Our budget was tight on this one, so we created an animated piece that would allow us to highlight the software uniquely, making the screens larger than the doctor and patient. We used word bubbles to emphasize the conversations between our characters, and icons to show how Nsight picked up on those cues.

From the get-go, the major stakeholders had wildly different opinions of what this should be, but the finished piece satisfied their concerns. Deep in the funding phase, Avodah has used this piece to support its SaaS product and it lives as an evergreen asset on their homepage.
