In an effort to build the hype surrounding James Patterson’s first audio-only drama with Audible, we created a series of trailers from some of the series’ more suspenseful moments.

I pitched this concept during the team’s ideation stage, and it won the room over. After listening to the audio drama, I selected the best scenes to entice listeners and pulled quotes for our motion designer to turn into the teaser trailer you see here.

This was Audible’s attempt at a new kind of storytelling, giving listeners a more immersive experience than your standard audiobook. The result was 3.5 million listening hours for Patterson’s first seven audio dramas released on the platform, with The Coldest Case being the first.
